Then at the end of March, which was just last week, our general manager - Roop, left Hong Kong to join her husband and baby girl in Singapore. She grew the company over the last couple of years and it was like another baby to her.

We have all grown to know her and love her spirit and commitment to the company and all of us. As a farewell gift, we made a scrap book for her and hosted a farewell cocktail for her.

Unfortunately, I lapsed in documenting all of that, click to enlarge photo on the right: I bought vegetable - watercress, spinach, and others that I don't know the name of and submerged them in vases filled with water - less expensive than flowers and more refreshing to look at.

For the cocktail, we had champagne, cheeses (Brie, Gorgonzola, cheddar), antipasto (pastrami, honey ham, salami, smoked salmon), a crispy shrimp appetizer (I made!), tiramisu (I made!), Chinese roasted pork and chicken (supposedly a must in Chinese work culture), baguette and water crackers, cut fruits, and lots of pastries and tarts.

The main thing that I wanted to tell her through the scrap book and the cocktail, was that we really appreciate what she did and that we will never forget her and to always work hard and stay in touch.

I put this quote on the cover of her scrap book:

"I am a part of all that I have met." Alfred Lord Tennyson

Which is so true, each and everyone of us are a part of all the people that we meet. The way we treat others, the words we say, the way they feel will always remain with both persons.
