New Finds

The last few weeks at IDS and ED have been just so-so.... it could have been more interesting, but there are bound to be days of boredom and sluggishness in everyone's work life, right? (please agree... I wouldn't be able to stand it, if someone said there work was exciting every single day.... I just would not believe it!)

However, there is a perk that comes with working at a company like mine, I get free stuff!!!! HAHAHAHAHA! Wait till you see what I got!

My boss, went to Milan for a show and she stopped in Paris on her way back and got me a little keychain with the Eiffel Tower... I won't say anything more, I am just happy that she thought of getting me something... =)

And then, we get samples from a lot of exhibitors, so for another show that is produced by our company, there were a bunch of knick-knacks left in the kitchen (where it's free for the taking), so my co-workers picked out a pair of earrings for me, which they assumed I would like because I only wear earrings, and they were absolutely on point with picking out a pair of earrings for me.... they are so cute and pretty! I was really happy to know that they picked it out for me.

Also I took a jar of tomato jam home, it was interesting, never had tomato jam.... tastes kind of like eating pizza with only tomatoes on it.... lol....

And then I took home a t-shirt that was designed by a student for a competition at last year's ED show. Unfortunately I haven't take photos of the last two things mentioned here....

So during my days of constant information searching (I was compiling lists and lists of schools to send information to), I came across some really interesting websites, and well, I think after filling 6 memo sheets with info, I think this may turn into a rather lengthy entry.... ooooppppsss! :O

Ok, let's see, I'll have to go through and sort them out....

toronto-things-to-do:
Sweetspot
I used to complain that there was nothing to do or see in Toronto, and had no idea where to bring friends and family if and when they visit.... but I think this website will definitely help in planning some things to do...

(please note, no "e" in kitchen)

Another website/blog that has lots of great ideas to make your home more welcoming and cozy, so that you can stay home without feeling bored.... hehehehe... hey it's a recession people, stay at home and save money!

Design Sponge
A wonderful website! I especially like the DIY section, loads of great ideas to do in your home for yourself or as gifts for other people and it has detailed instructions, so really anyone can do them!

Watermelon Keg
I just came upon this, and just thought it was a really cool idea!~

David Stark
This is my NEW FAVOURITE EVENT DESIGNER! LOVE LOVE LOVE his work! and love the fact that he takes in interns and encourages people to apply for a job with him. He's my "secret next goal to accomplish", because I don't know if I'll really be able to do it, but it's a little dream of mine to work at his company....

MONEY MONEY MONEY:

I received daily updates from the Simple Dollar, a blog written by a man who gives out some simple money and life advice. This is another good blog with advice that's easy to accept or at least hold on to for consideration.

RANDOMNESS & Time Wasters:
www.stumbleupon.com
as suggested by a fellow blogger, this site just let's you surf the internet, but you can choose what topics you want to surf.... you may think it's like google search, but it's better, cuz it's more like a "roll-the dice" thing, you just stumble on different sites, and it's fast, it doesn't take long to load.... and since there's a list of recommended sites or new sites, you don't really have to think about what you want to search....

http://lifehacker.com
no it's not to learn hacking... although you may be able to learn it on this site, I don't know... but this site is like one of those "how to do" anything websites.... I haven't really looked around yet, but it seems like it'll be useful to have bookmarked...
