Eating my way through Osaka

Sayonara Okinawa!

Day 5 - Osaka > Yodoyabashi > Shinsaibashi > Namba > Umeda Sky Building
Landed in Osaka and took me about 1 hour to get to the city centre and my hotel, the weather was a bit cloudy and rainy that day. My hotel is located in the business district Yodoyabashi, so it's more quiet and less busy than the main shopping/tourist district.
above & below: Yodoyabashi - business district
above: Shinsaibashi - FULL of shopping opportunities
I had a quick lunch in one of the restaurants around there, and then walked from my hotel down to Shinsaibashi where there are lots of shopping opportunity - I went into Uniqlo and J!NS, but didn't buy anything.... passed by Dotonbori (where there's lots of restaurants and food to eat)
above: Dotonbori - plenty of choices for food
above: ramen shop where you buy a ticket with your choice of
1) pork with ramen (JPY 600), or 2) larger portion of pork with ramen (JPY 900)
above: interesting, this is a females only Karaoke place!
below: don't know what this is, but there were a bunch of people standing there watching a radio broadcast
Then I continued walking down towards Namba and stopped at a Wanaka Takoyaki, this was a shop specially introduced to me by Eriko.
below: usually the takoyaki has all the toppings below, but this one they separate it into four toppings.
It was just as good as the original topping.
Afterwards I walked to Namba and went up to Namba Parks which is a shopping mall with a rooftop garden, this is a great place to sit back with a coffee and just enjoy the environment. There's also a cinema on the top floor which makes it convenient in case you need to use the washroom or want to catch a movie. :D
Afterwards I took the subway around 7:00pm and it was still quite busy with people getting off work. I made my way to Umeda to visit the Sky Building for a view of the city. Usually I don't go to places like "___ tower" because I think most of the time I'm quite disappointed with the view - nothing really compares to the iconic city skyline of Hong Kong by day and at night. But I went anyways because I didn't have time to go to the big Ferris Wheel in Osaka by the aquarium/bay. I still got some nice shots from the top of the building this time.
The other reason is because I was heading in the same direction for my hotel, and this is just one station away from Yodoyabashi. :D
