March Wedding

And here are the photos from Vivian & Bill's Hong Kong wedding Banquet at the InterContinental, March 10, 2010.

Everything looks really pink, but her colours were white and purple, and the lights in the room were a light purple but came out in the camera in pink....

Look at the huge Stage! There was an 18 piece band with a dance floor.

There were three types of table centerpieces, one is a tall one with a pearl "umbrella" arrangement with white amaryllis and bunches of lily of the valley in small fish bowl vases.

The medium height tables had three arrangements of varying heights on them.

The low arrangements were wide spread white orchids

And once the doors opened for the guests to take their seats, my co-worker, Annie, and I went downstairs to take photos of the staircase. The staircase, for those of you who don't live in HK, is SUPER Famous, supposedly it was the first hotel in HK to have such a grand staircase and many couples choose this venue for their banquet because of the staircase and the largest ballroom in all of Hong Kong.
During Setup...

After setup with lighting...

Very simple decoration, but with the lighting it was stunning

During the banquet, there was a buddhist gift ceremony, and we were able to watch a bit of it. Nothing really special, just a buddhist monk from Taiwan attended the banquet and gave the new couple lots of gifts.

A common thing that many couples do now is to give away the flowers that they use, as these are all fresh cut flowers and it would be such a waste to throw them away. Most of the flowers will last for another week or so if the weather is cool. Even the flowers on the staircase were to be given to guests, so Annie and I had to setup a flower shop in the foyer, drying the stems and wrapping them in tissue paper for guests to take home. =)

The bride ordered a cake to be made that had sugar flowers on it. Guests were invited to take home the sugar flowers as souvenirs... I took some home too!

March Wedding

Three days after completing the wedding fair, we were back at the InterContinental for a wedding banquet...

The happily married couple, Vivian and Bill, got married in the US and came back to HK to host a wedding banquet for their friends and family in HK.

There are some really unique things about this couple and wedding, they met at a Rotary event, the bride is a devote buddhist and so their wedding ceremony was conducted by a buddhist priest. I got some of her photos from the wedding in the US to share with you, they are absolutely stunning!

The photographer is so good! Love his style!

Her dress is absolutely amazing! It's like lace panels, really exquisite handiwork

The couple's cake was created by Sylvia Weinstock, all the flowers are handmade sugar flowers and the cake has the same pattern are her dress!

Aren't these photos OUT of This WORLD???
Congrats Vivian & Bill!

Now, I am too shy to show your my photos... hehehe...

Luxury Wedding Showcase 2010

Recent events in the past two months allowed me to have a rare opportunity to work on a wedding fair and to help out with a wedding banquet, here are some photos from the wedding fair.

InterContinental Hong Kong
Luxury Wedding Showcase 2010

The wedding fair was in the Grand Ballroom at the InterContinental Hong Kong, and the foyer and ballroom were all used. The ball room was split into 4 sections and 1 section in the middle as well.

Just a word of warning, my photos really don't do this fair justice. Wish you all had the opportunity to visit. I'll also get some photos from a professional photographer later on, but don't know when, will post once I receive them! =)

On the day, if you came, you would have seen me running around in all the sections, making sure that the models got to the right position. Instead of a run of the mill catwalk fashion show, we decided to have "live mannequins", where the models stand on platforms like they are mannequins, but they can move around and pose. When the models first came out, there was such a commotion and excitement! All the dresses were stunning! I took some photos backstage while they were getting ready...
